JD Results from Jack Brow

Congratulations to HannaEthan and Rathaine, who competed in the Jack Brow meet in Kelowna this past weekend. All three athletes enjoyed an outstanding weekend. Hanna brought home 3 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and three personal bests. Rathaine brought back two silver medals and two bronze medals. Ethan recorded personal bests in all three of his events, and won the bronze medal in 800m, where he finished 3rd of eight athletes in a personal best 2:13.93s. Well done athletes!

Hanna won the silver medal in the discus, finishing 2nd of seven athletes with a +2.79m personal best throw of 25.95m.Hanna also won the silver medal in the hammer throw, finishing 2nd of four athletes with a 30.85m throw. Hanna teamed up with CALTAF multi-events athletes Mia Hull, Emma Chong and Anise Parker to capture the silver medal in the 4x100m. The team finished 2nd of seven teams in 53.37s. Finally, Hanna added to her medal collection in the shot put, where she claimed the bronze medal, finishing 3rd of five athletes with a 9.61m throw. Hanna ran a personal best 13.84s in the 100m heat to qualify for the final, and then ran another personal best 13.77s in the final to finish 5thoverall. Well done Hanna!

Ethan certainly was at his best at this meet, shaving seconds off all three of his running events. In addition to his bronze medal in the 800m, Ethan recorded a -4.42s PB in the 1200m, where he finished 6th in 3:41.99s. Ethan also ran a personal best 4:58.80s in the 1500m steeplechase, where he finished just out of the medals in 4th place. Well done Ethan!

Rathaine dominated the 14-years throwing events, claiming the silver medals in both the hammer throw and javelin, and the bronze medals in the shot put and discus. In the javelin, Rathaine finished 2nd of seven athletes with a 25.51m throw while, in the hammer, Rathaine’s throw of 26.89m earned her the silver medal. In the shot put, Rathaine placed 3rd of fourteen athletes with a 8.87m throw, while in the discus, Rathaine finished 3rd of thirteen athletes with a 25.73m throw. Well done Rathaine!
