Middle and Long Distance

Cross Country – Begins August 2024

Monday 5:00-7:00 pm Canmore Park
Tuesday 5:00-7:00 pm Confederation Park
Thursday 5:00-7:00 pm Edworthy Park
Friday 5:00-7:00 pm River Park

The first season of the year is cross country. You will be expected to make some of your school practices
to be on the school cross-country team (usually when they know you are on a club team you can get
away with one or two a week with the school).

The group will compete in numerous clubs meets, Provincials (high school and club) and for some Cross-
Country Nationals (by invitation).

Indoor Season – Begins November 2024

Indoor season training days, times, and locations have not been finalized and are subject to
change. We will communicate this information as soon as we can. The below information
outlines our initial planning.

Monday 5:00-8:00 pm Olympic Oval.
Tuesday 5:00-7:00 pm Olympic Oval
Thursday 5:00-7:00 pm Olympic Oval
Friday 5:00-7:30 pm Olympic Oval.

This is the season when the athletes are introduced to weights two times a week and yoga stretch once a
week at the end of the regular workouts. We will compete in numerous indoor meets, capping off the
season with Indoor Provincials. The more you race the faster you see the improvements.

Outdoor Season – Begins March 2024

Monday 5:00-7:00 pm Foothills Athletic Park
Tuesday 5:00-7:00 pm Glenmore Athletic Park
Thursday 5:00-7:00 pm Foothills
Friday 5:00-7:00 pm Foothills

Training is the same days and times of the week. Monday, Thursday, and Friday, the group is at Foothills
track and Tuesday at Glenmore. We compete in numerous meets, including Dino School meets, New
Balance series, Caltaf Classic, and. Provincials.  Those that are successful will find themselves as part of
the Tri Province team for Alberta, and some who are able to achieve the standard will get to go to
National Championships
