Results from the Dino Indoor Challenge

Caltaflogo-fixVector0410JDUpdate03Congratulations to the four JD athletes who competed at the Dino Indoor Challenge, the final meet of the indoor season. Alex M, Thomas, Matthew and Thibaut chose to compete at this very late indoor meet in pursuit of overall Calgary Indoor Track Series medals, and all four ran very well.

The MVP of the meet was definitely Alex M, who won both the 60m and 150m (with big PB’s in both!), as well as the overall gold medal for the Indoor Series for 12-year old girls. She capped it all off with the very tough 800m event, where she finished fourth. Way to go Alex!

Two other JD athletes also won overall medals for the Calgary Indoor Track Series:

Thibaut finished 5th in the 60m and 3rd in the 400m to lock up the bronze medal for 14-year old boys. It took some convincing to get Thibaut in that 400m, but it paid off with a medal. Well done Thibaut!

-Despite not competing in the final meet of the series, Shaniah won the bronze medal for 14-year old girls on the back of multiple first-place finishes in the three previous meets. Nice job Shaniah!

Matthew and Thomas also ran very well, finishing 5th and 6th in the overall series standings respectively. Matthew finished 2nd in his 800m and also finished 7th in the 150m, while Thomas ran the 60m, 150m and 800m, finishing in the top 8 in all three events.

I am excited to see how these results translate to the outdoor season, with our first outdoor meet coming up this weekend. Congratulations to the entire JD group on a very successful indoor season!
