Caltaf is proud not just of our member’s athletic accomplishments at the track but also of successes beyond track and field. Occasionally we like to draw attention to these extra-athletic accomplishments.
Matt Galea won the Pat Gallagher Award for the Calgary Senior High School Outstanding Male Cross-Country Athlete last week that includes a $1000 university scholarship. The award is a mix of performance, academics, community involvement and leadership.
Roman Storoshchuk wrote an op-ed article published in both the Calgary Herald (Nov 27, 2010) and the University of Calgary Gauntlet (Nov 25, 2010) on the persecution of Ukrainians.
