Whether you’re just starting out in the sport of track and field, or are an experienced and competitive athlete qualifying for the Olympics, Caltaf has a place for you!
Founded in 1958, Caltaf is one of the oldest and most established track clubs in Canada. The Club offers year-round developmental and competitive training programs for athletes of all ages and interests, para and able bodied.
Caltaf has developed some of the best top ranking athletes on a provincial, national and international level. We provide top level coaching by nationally certified coaches that have experience in all aspects of track and field.
We are also committed to The Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model which is a framework for an optimal training, competition, and recovery schedule for each stage of athletic development. Developing fundamental skills at a young age and refining competitive skills at higher levels of development are important for able bodied athletes as well as athletes with disabilities.
Caltaf’s goal is for all members to develop a lifelong appreciation of physical literacy.
Through training sand competition, we instill a powerful sense of self-motivation, self-discipline and a drive for excellence that easily translates into all aspects of life. Athletes gain self-confidence and the knowledge that they are able to overcome obstacles not just in track but in life. They come to understand that if they are willing to work hard and have fun, great things can happen!
The Club provides opportunities to create lifelong memories and friendships as we all work together towards excellence. Our Club culture is an accepting environment that gives our athletes a strong sense of belonging.
Our hope is that our athletes’ time with us is an experience with a positive effect on their lives for years to come.
