JD Results from the Dino Classic

Congratulations to JD athletes Martin, Brent, Nathan, Patrick, Sean, Sahad, Harry, Ben, Matt, Claudia, Antha, Quinn, Anna, Delainy, Sarah, Emma, Kate, Georgia, Mia, Marissa, Heather, Kiannah and Lauren, who competed in the Dino Classic yesterday. Among them, these twenty-three athletes produced some excellent results. Here are the highlights.

Martin, Brent, Nathan, Patrick, Sean, Sahad, Harry, Ben, Claudia, Antha, Quinn, Anna, Sarah, Emma, Georgia, Mia, Marissa, Heather, Kiannah and Lauren all placed in the top five in at least one of their events, and Patrick, Sean, Sahad, Harry, Ben, Antha, Quinn, Anna, Sarah, Emma Georgia, Mia, Marissa, Kiannah and Lauren recorded multiple top five finishes.

Ben placed in the top three in all three of his individual events, while Quinn finished 3rd in both of her events. Well done Ben and Quinn!

Antha won the 15-year-old girls 300m, while Claudia placed 1st in the 15-year-old girls 1200m, Mia won the 13-year-old girls 600m, Marissa placed 1st in the 13-year-old girls 1200m, and Ben took 1st in the 13-year-old boys 600m.

Emma was 2nd in the 13-year-old girls 60m, while Anna was 2nd in the 14-year-old girls 60m, new athlete Georgia was 2nd in the 13-year-old girls 600m, Lauren was 2nd in the 12-year-old girls 600m, Patrick was 2nd in the 14-year-old boys 600m, Sahad was 2nd in the 14-year-old boys 1200m, and Ben was 2nd in the 13-year-old boys 60m.

Quinn finished 3rd in both the 15-year-old girls 60m and 300m, while Emma was 3rd in the 13-year-old girls 600m, Mia was 3rd in the 13-year-old girls 150m, Brent was 3rd in the 15-year-old boys 60m, Sean was 3rd in the 14-year-old boys 60m, and Ben was 3rd in the 13-year-old boys 150m.

Fourth place finishes were recorded by Sarah in both the 14-year-old girls 60m and 300m, byHarry in both the 13-year-old boys 60m and 150m, and by new athlete Georgia in the 13-year-old girls 60m, Marissa in the 13-year-old girls 150m, Antha in the 15-year-old girls 60m,Heather in the 13-year-old girls 600m, Lauren in the 12-year-old girls 150m, new athleteMartin in the 15-year-old boys 60m, Nathan in the 14-year-old boys 300m, and Patrick in the 14-year-old boys 60m.

Brent, Sean, Anna and Kiannah recorded a personal best performance in one of their individual events, while Matt, Antha, Emma, Mia and Lauren achieved multiple personal bests.

Brent took more than a third of a second off his PB in the 60m, finishing 3rd in a personal best time of 8.20s. Well done Brent!

Sean took 2.24s off his PB in the 600m, finishing 3rd in 2:05.78s. Well done Sean!

Bantam Matt finished the 60m in a personal best of 10.31s in the 60m, and completed the 150m in a PB time of 26.50s.Well done Matt!

Antha ran an outstanding 300m, finishing 1st in 47.02s, a personal best by almost 2 seconds. Antha also ran a personal best in the 60m, where she finished 4th. Well doneAntha!

Anna ran a personal best of 9.44s in the 60m to finish 2nd. Well done Anna!

Bantam Emma finished 2nd of 11 athletes in the 60m in a personal best time of 8.85s, an outstanding time for a bantam. Emma also recorded a personal best in the 150m, where she finished in 23.22s. Well done Anna!

Bantam Mia finished the 60m in a personal best time of 9.13s, and also achieved a personal best in the 150m, where she finished 4th in 22.67s. Well done Mia!

Bantam Kiannah finished the 60m in a personal best time of 10.23s. Well done Kiannah!

Our youngest athlete, first-year bantam Lauren, recorded personal bests in the 60m, where she finished in 10.23s, and the 150m, where she finished in 26.03s. Well done Lauren!

After the first two meets of the Calgary Indoor Series, the JD Group has several athletes who have accumulated enough points in their individual events to place themselves in contention for an overall Series medal.

Sean stands in the gold medal position for 14-year-old boys, 1st of 16 athletes with 27 points.

Mia is in the gold medal position for 13-year-old girls, 1st of 17 athletes with 36 points.

Marissa is just three points behind Mia, and in the silver medal position for 13-year-old girls.

Ben has accumlated 40 points, placing him 2nd of eight 13-year-old athletes and in the silver medal position.

Sahad sits in the silver medal position for 15-year-old boys, 2nd of 16 athletes with 21 points.

Sarah stands in the silver medal position for 14-year-old girls, 2nd of 12 athletes with 33 points.

Harry and Anna sit just out of the medals in 4th place, while Matt, Claudia, Emma andLauren are in 5th place in their respective age categories.

Quinn and Antha are 6th and 7th respectively in what is shaping up to be a very close contest for medals in the 15-year-old girls’ category.

Congratulations to JD’s two newest athletes, Georgia and Martin, who were participating in their first meet. Both of you looked very confident out on the track and achieved outstanding results, especially given that it was your first meet. Well done! Welcome to CALTAF!
