Festival of 8’s
This year the addition of the 4x800m Relay provided an exciting end to some fast 800m races. 3 Teams battled it out with the Caltaf Mixed team of Manpreet A, Alexis N, Leon B and Ephrem F running 11:20.70 for the win. Even more exciting was witnessing the Calgary Phoenix Strider Team of Janice Patterson, Kendra Laycock, Margot Glover, and Donna Dixon set a new pending Canadian Masters 4x800m Record of 11:27.45; congratulations to all relay runners, especially those that doubled back after the open 800m.
This year in honor of Alberta’s 114thbirthday we hosted a 190.50m race. Well done to Ryan S, Matteo D in the U10 race and Ephrem F and Leon B in the U12 race who will be presented with a special commemorative medal at City Hall by the Alberta Lieutenant Governor.
