CALTAF JD at Legion Nationals – Brandon, MB

The weather conditions in Brandon were challenging with temperatures hovering around 39C and 43C with the humidity.

This year we had 14 athletes qualify for Nationals – Claire, Carlee, Jaxon, Tyler, Enkh-Orgil, Alex, Sarah, Cameron, Caiden, Emiliano, Kya, Danijela, Ella, and Jaya.

Of that group, Sarah, Cameron, Caiden, Emiliano, Kya, and Danijela represented CALTAF and Ella and Jaya competed for Team ABNWT.

It was so exciting to see the following athletes set a Personal Best on the National stage:
Sarah – 100m, Shot Put, Hurdles, 800m
Cameron – Javelin
Caiden 100m & 300m
Ella – 100m

And a special mention to both Kya (80mH 2/100thof a second) and Ella (800m 3/100thof a second) coming close to their personal best.

Ella was named the Team ABNWT Outstanding Female Athlete with her Silver Medal performances in the 100m, 300m, 800m and her 400m Leg on the Silver Medal Sprint Medley Relay Team.

On the first day of competition, Sarah set a personal best in the 100m and then came back in the Pentathlon to set 3 Personal bests on her way to scoring 3042 to win the Silver Medal.

Cameron threw a massive 2m personal best in the Javelin to win the silver medal.
