It is quite possible that athletes listed above may be selected to Team Alberta for the Western Canadian Midget and Youth Championships, which are also in July. If they are, they will be asked to give up their place on the Alberta Summer Games team. As a result, alternates have an excellent chance of being named to the Alberta Summer Games team.

There is a mandatory meeting for all Alberta Summer Games team members and alternates on Monday 14th June at 7:00pm with ASG Head Coach Brenda Van Tighem. Athletes must be accompanied by a parent, who needs to be there to sign forms. You are to meet Brenda just outside the Fitness Centre (at the desk where you accessed the Fitness Centre Track in the Jack Simpson Gym) at the University of Calgary. Please be prompt.
